  • Description VRTG12

VRTG12 - 180° rotary block for two pneumatic grippers

VRTG12 is a compact KIPVALVE pneumatic rotary block designed for mounting two grippers. The model rotates the gripper head by 180° and is used in robotic cells, automated lines, CNC machine systems and part feeding applications where loading and unloading operations need to be combined in one working cycle.

The rotary block helps change the position of the gripping unit without adding an extra robot axis. This makes it possible to organize sequential operation with two positions: for example, to remove a machined part and prepare the next workpiece for feeding into the machine at the same time. This principle is used in CNC machine tending, part transfer between process stages, automated assembly and sorting.

VRTG12 is designed for mounting two parallel or centering pneumatic grippers. For parallel models, the grippers can be mounted on the rotary head at 0° and 90° positions; for centering models, at 0° and 180° positions. Internal pneumatic channels in the design allow air to be supplied to the grippers through the rotary head and reduce the number of external tubes in the moving part of the unit.

The rotation angle of the model is 180°, and the torque is 0.13×P N·m, where P is the working air pressure. VRTG12 operates at a pressure of 3-8 bar, performs rotation in 0.3-0.8 s and provides positioning repeatability of ±0.05 mm. The permissible workpiece weight is up to 0.8 kg, the maximum gripper load is up to 1 kg, with an M10 hydraulic buffer, M5 connection port, IP65 protection rating and a block weight of 1.4 kg.

What to consider when selecting VRTG12

Nominal torque alone is not enough to select a rotary block. It is necessary to consider the total weight of two grippers, working fingers, adapter plates and parts, as well as the position of the center of gravity, tooling overhang, moment of inertia and the required cycle speed.

The farther the center of gravity of the gripping unit is located from the rotation axis, the higher the load on the mechanism and buffer device. When using long fingers, non-standard tooling, parts with an offset center of gravity or high cycle frequency, we recommend checking the layout using a drawing or 3D model before ordering the equipment.

    Rotary unit configuration

VRTG12 can be configured with parallel or centering pneumatic grippers, working fingers designed for the part geometry, position sensors and a compensation module. The HT-ZG compensation module is available for the VRTG series and helps compensate for deviations when feeding a workpiece into the technological position.

KIPPRIBOR LA08 inductive sensors can be used to monitor the end positions of the rotary head. They allow a signal confirming completion of the rotation to be transmitted to the control system and help monitor the operation sequence in the automatic cycle.

Send us a drawing, 3D model or parameters of the parts and grippers — KIPVALVE specialists will help check the loads and select the VRTG12, compatible pneumatic grippers, sensors and pneumatic system components for your specific task.
