  • Description VGFR28-76

    VGFR28-76 - two-finger pneumatic gripper with a toothed guide

    VGFR28-76 is a compact two-finger parallel pneumatic gripper by KIPVALVE with a toothed guide. The model is designed for gripping, moving and precise positioning of small parts in robotic cells, automated assembly stations, workpiece feeding systems and machine tool complexes.

    Two base jaws move in opposite parallel directions, so the gripper is suitable for parts with parallel surfaces, housings, small workpieces, tooling elements and cylindrical products when custom fingers of the appropriate shape are used. VGFR28-76 can be used for CNC machine loading and unloading, transferring parts between process positions, sorting, assembly and other repetitive operations.

    The design uses a toothed jaw guide. This solution provides synchronized parallel movement, is designed for loaded operation and helps reduce backlash compared to classic grippers with T-shaped guides. The VGFR series belongs to the higher-load two-finger pneumatic grippers by KIPVALVE and is suitable for use in automated production systems.

    The stroke per jaw is 6 mm, the maximum permissible distance between the fingers is 90 mm, and gripping repeatability is ±0.02 mm. The working pressure is 3–8 bar, and the operating temperature is from −5 to +60 °C. The gripper weight is 0.3 kg, and the maximum workpiece weight is 1.5 kg. The final model selection must be confirmed with regard to the actual part holding conditions.

    What to consider when selecting a gripper

    A pneumatic gripper should not be selected based only on the workpiece weight. The actual holding capacity depends on the material and surface condition of the part, the friction coefficient, the gripping method, the length and weight of the custom fingers, the center of gravity position, robot acceleration and the required cycle time.

    As the finger length increases, the moment load on the base jaws and guides also increases, while the gripping force at the contact point decreases. Therefore, for stable operation, it is important to provide specialists with a drawing, a 3D model or the main workpiece parameters: dimensions, weight, material, gripping area, center of gravity position and requirements for operation speed.

    VGFR28-76 versions for special tasks

    The standard VGFR28-76 version is suitable for tasks that require the full 6 mm jaw stroke and a compact parallel gripper.

    Separate versions are available for other operating conditions:

    • VGFR28-76-S — version with increased gripping force and shortened stroke;
    • VGFR28-76-NO — version with mechanical self-locking in the open position;
    • VGFR28-76-NC — version with mechanical self-locking in the closed position.

    Gripping system configuration

    VGFR28-76 can be supplemented with custom fingers for the part shape, position sensors, a rotary unit and a compensation module. This configuration makes it possible to assemble a gripping unit for an industrial robot, automated line or machine tool area.

    Send a drawing, 3D model or part parameters — KIPVALVE specialists will help select the VGFR28-76 version, custom fingers, sensors and compatible components for your specific task.
