  • Description VGFZ34-68

VGFZ34-68 - three-finger centering pneumatic gripper for round parts

VGFZ34-68 is a compact KIPVALVE centering pneumatic gripper with three synchronously moving fingers. The model is used in robotic cells, automated assembly stations, workpiece feeding systems and machine tool complexes where the part must not only be held, but also accurately positioned relative to the axis.

The three-finger design is suitable for external gripping of round parts: bushings, cylindrical workpieces, small flanges, rings and other products with suitable geometry. The fingers move radially and converge toward the center, so the workpiece is fixed in a stable position before being installed in a fixture, machine tool or the next process unit.

The design uses a toothed jaw guide. It ensures synchronized finger movement and is intended for industrial operation in repeated cycles. The stroke per finger is 6 mm, the maximum allowable distance between the fingers is 70 mm, and repeatability is ±0.02 mm. These parameters make the model suitable for compact operations where centering and stable positioning are important.

What to consider when selecting the gripper

A pneumatic gripper cannot be selected based only on the part weight. The actual holding capacity is affected by the diameter and material of the workpiece, surface condition, gripping method, length and weight of the gripper fingers, center of gravity position, robot acceleration and cycle time. As the finger length increases, the moment load on the gripper increases, while the force at the contact point with the part decreases.

For correct selection, it is necessary to provide a drawing or 3D model of the part, its weight, gripping area dimensions, positioning requirements during transfer and the equipment operating conditions. KIPVALVE specialists will help determine the appropriate configuration, design the gripper fingers and select compatible components.

    Versions with self-locking

For applications where pressure loss scenarios must be considered, separate versions with mechanical self-locking are available: VGFZ34-68-NO with open-position holding and VGFZ34-68-NC with closed-position holding. The choice between them depends on the safety requirements of the specific robotic cell, the workpiece weight and the emergency stop algorithm.

    Gripping system configuration

VGFZ34-68 can be complemented with gripper fingers designed for the part geometry, position sensors, a rotary unit and a compensation module. This configuration allows the gripper to be used for machine loading and unloading, workpiece transfer between operations and automated assembly.

Send us a drawing, 3D model or part parameters, and KIPVALVE specialists will prepare a technical solution, select compatible components and calculate the configuration for your application.
