Description VRTP12
VRTP12 - 180° pneumatic rotary block for one gripper
VRTP12-180° is a compact KIPVALVE pneumatic rotary block designed for mounting one gripper. The model rotates the end effector around its axis by 180° and is used in robotic cells, automated lines, assembly stations, part feeding systems, and machine loading or unloading applications.
The rotary block allows the workpiece orientation to be changed without adding a separate robot axis or an additional mechanism. This solution is suitable for operations where a part needs to be flipped, transferred to the next position, fed into a machine in a different orientation, or placed into tooling after gripping.
The torque of the VRTP12 is 0.13×P N·m, where P is the operating air pressure. The model operates at 3–7 bar, the rotation time is 0.8–2 s, and the repeat positioning accuracy is ±0.05 mm. The M5 pneumatic port simplifies connection to the air preparation system, while the M10 hydraulic buffer reduces impact loads in the end positions. The maximum allowable kinetic energy is 0.3 J, the protection rating is IP65, and the block weight is 0.65 kg.
What to consider when selecting VRTP12-180°
A rotary block should not be selected only by its nominal torque. For stable operation, it is necessary to consider the total weight of the gripper, gripping fingers, and part, as well as the position of the center of gravity, overhang length, moment of inertia, required rotation speed, and cycle frequency.
The farther the center of gravity of the gripping unit is from the rotation axis, the higher the load on the rotary mechanism and buffer device. When working with long fingers, heavy tooling, or parts with an offset center of gravity, an engineering load check based on a drawing or 3D model is required.
VRTP12-180° is reasonable to use for compact gripping systems with one parallel pneumatic gripper or centering pneumatic gripper, provided that the load parameters comply with the model’s technical documentation.
Sensors and rotary unit configuration
Two KIPPRIBOR LA08 inductive sensors can be used to monitor the positions of the VRTP12-180° rotary block. They help transmit a signal to the control system when the end position is reached, monitor the equipment operating sequence, and reduce the risk of errors in the automatic cycle.
To assemble a complete unit, the following components may be required:
- a pneumatic gripper selected for the part type and weight;
- gripping fingers designed for the workpiece geometry;
- position control sensors;
- pneumatic system components;
- a mounting plate or adapter element.
Send us a drawing, 3D model, or the parameters of the part and installed gripper. KIPVALVE specialists will help check the loads, select the VRTP12-180°, sensors, and compatible components for a robotic cell or machine-tending station.
