VRTE40 - 90° pneumatic rotary block for two grippers

VRTE40 is a KIPVALVE pneumatic rotary block for mounting two grippers and rotating the working unit by 90°. The model is used in robotic cells, automated lines, machine tool systems and equipment loading systems where the orientation of a part must be changed quickly between process operations.

The rotary block makes it possible to combine gripping, rotation and workpiece transfer in one compact unit. This solution is used for machine loading and unloading, transferring parts between positions, automated assembly, sorting and feeding workpieces into fixtures. By installing two pneumatic grippers, a more productive cycle can be created: one gripper works with the part, while the second prepares the next operation.

VRTE40 is designed for a 90° rotation angle. The torque is 2×P N·m, where P is the working air pressure. For this model, the working pressure is 4-6 bar, the rotation time is 0.6-1.1 s, the repeat positioning accuracy is ±0.05 mm, the protection rating is IP65, and the product weight is 2.1 kg. The pneumatic connection port is M5, and the buffer unit is M12 1-10. The permissible part weight is 0.8 kg, the maximum gripper load is 1 kg, and the maximum workpiece weight is 1.5 kg.

What to consider when selecting VRTE40

VRTE40 should not be selected only by torque or workpiece weight. For stable operation, it is necessary to consider the total weight of two grippers, working fingers, adapter plates and parts, as well as the tooling overhang, center of gravity position, moment of inertia and required cycle speed.

The farther the center of gravity is from the rotation axis, the higher the load on the rotary mechanism and buffer unit. With long fingers, non-standard tooling or high cycle frequency, it is better to check the layout in advance using a drawing or 3D model.

Rotary unit configuration

The VRTE series is designed for automated systems for fast part loading and unloading. KIPVALVE engineering materials for VRTE specify a 90° head rotation, built-in shock absorbers, the possibility of installing KIPPRIBOR LA08 inductive sensors, and an M5 connection port for VRTE40. A compensation unit is also available as an option for the series.

VRTE40 can be used with the VGFR36-96 parallel pneumatic gripper, working fingers designed for the part geometry, position control sensors, pneumatic system components and a compensation module. The HT-HE compensation module is used for VRTE and helps compensate for small deviations when feeding the workpiece into the process position.

Two KIPPRIBOR LA08 inductive sensors can be used to control the end positions of the rotary block. They transmit a signal to the control system and help monitor the sequence of operations in the automatic cycle.
